“Despite the plethora of Fashion’s Night Out Parties taking place all over Manhattan, there was no place I would have rather been then the colossal clash of fashion and music that was the John Varvatos Fashion Week Party on The Bowery. While it’s a well known truth in both the fashion and music worlds that Varvatos parties are always a packed house, filled to the brim with a stylish crowd, celebrities, and some of the most legendary music artists, no two of his parties are ever the same. Varvatos said of the night’s guest band, the legendary Roots crew, “Incredible. It’s something about the Roots being true musicians—they filled the room with pulsing energy, the likes of which we have never had. This was historic.” As one of the party’s lucky attendees, basking in stage-side glory, I couldn’t agree more…….”
One of the most incredible experiences of my life, I was lucky enough to attend the John Varvatos Fashion Week party during Fashion’s Night Out, which just happened to feature one of my FAVORITE bands, The Roots! If you read my article on the John Varvatos F/W 2011 campaign with featured the legendary Roots crew, you can imagine my level of excitement as I watched them perform in the old CBGB’s. They covered Led Zeppelin for heaven’s sake!
