If there was a single image which captures the beauty of fashion and rock n’ roll joining forces, it is most certainly this photograph. Iconic punk rock star Iggy Pop, not only rock a dress but accessorizing with a snakeskin classic Lady Dior Bag. Totally brill!
However, I personally don’t believe this image is simply a fashion statement, but alas a political one as well. Iggy Pop is a notorious animal rights activist who up until this point wouldn’t be caught dead in anything created by means of animal cruelty. Clearly poking fun at the ridiculousness of the fashion industry and the lengths it will go to for luxury, Iggy Pop is in no way promoting the Dior fashion house.
Fashion politics aside, hats off to the image’s photographer, Mikael Jansson, who has it featured in his very own book of Iggy Pop photographs. Everything about this image, screams BADASS.
