If I’ve learned one thing about Zang Toi over the past few years, it’s that he enjoys drama in his designs, just as much as Jill Zarin does in her social life on The Real Housewives of New York City.
Models took the House of Toi runway in the tallest buns I’ve seen thus far for Fall 2011. The collection began with less over the top looks, such as tailored coats, pencils skirts, and jackets. While these looks fit the models perfectly, I believe it was Toi’s evening wear which made the collection standout.
When gowns finally appeared on the runway, the audience was immediately reminded of Toi’s gift for fabulous red carpet looks. Volume was essential in all the silhouettes which varied in color from nudes, to deep greens and fuscias.
I was especially taken with the body jewelry which blindingly shimmered off the runway. Some might say he’s over the top, but no one can deny his talent for beautiful design and elegant theatrics!
